Konu özeti
Los Angeles gettolarında birlikte büyüyen üç arkadaşın öyküsünü anlatan film, kenar mahallede yaşanan olaylara içten bir bakış atmasıyla benzerlerinden ayrılıyor. Kardeş gibi Doughboy ve Ricky Baker birbirlerine benzememekle birlikte her an birlikte takılmaktadırlar. Üçüncü kişi ise Tre'dir. Üçlü şiddet ve uyuşturucunun konuştuğu mahallerinde kendilerini ispat etmeye çalışır. 90'lı yılların başında gettoda yaşayan siyah gençler arasında yükselen nefreti, şiddete olan eğilimi, doğasına yakın bir şekilde sunuyor film. Yönetmen bu filmi 23 yaşında çektiği için sinema dünyasının yeni dahilerinden biri olarak selamlandı ve henüz 24 yaşındayken Oscar ödülüne aday oldu.
