Konu özeti
Kuzeyli Nanook 1922 yapımı bir Robert J. Flaherty filmidir. Belgesel sinemanın en önemli örneklerinden biri sayılır. Hudson Körfezi'nde yaşayan bir Eskimo ailesinin yaşamını konu alır. Belgeselin ilk bantları kaza sonucu yanmıştı. Daha sonra Flaherty geri döndü ve tekrar aynı belgeseli çekti. Filmde eskimo ailesinin buzdan ev yapmaları, çocuklarını beslemeleri, avlanmaları gibi soğuk yaşamlarının en ince ayrıntıları görülebilir.

At times I thought this was filmed in the 1960s. It has an astonishing quality to it - the camerawork delivering quite a pristine image of this man and his family as they spend a year eking out a traditional existence. The terrain is inherently hostile. The weather cares little for him, his wife, his young children or…
