Eşini kaybetmiş Sam Baldwin, oğlu Jonah ile birlikte sakin bir hayat sürmektedir. Ulusal bir radyo kanalında yayın yapmaya başlayınca hayatında bazı değişiklikler olacaktır; çok sayıda kadın hayrana sahip olmak gibi...Sam'in yaşadığı yerden hayli uzak olan Annie de Sam'in hayranlarından biridir. Evlenmek üzere olduğu halde kafası bu konuyla ilgili karışık olan Annie, Sam'e göndermeyeceğini bildiği bir mektup yazar. Ardından dayanamaz ve etkilendiği bu erkekle tanışmaya karar verir.
